UPW vs MI WPL Highlights

UPW vs MI WPL Highlights: On Saturday, Match 15 of the first Women’s Premier League took place at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium. Mumbai Indians were asked to bat by UP Warriorz after winning the toss.

In the second game of the Saturday doubleheader, the UP Warriorz will try to get back on track after two straight losses and increase their chances of making the playoffs.

Mumbai Indians, lead by Harmanpreet Kaur, have had a standout season thus far, winning all five of their games to become the first team to secure their spot in the knockout rounds.

Yet with a sixth straight victory on Saturday in mind, captain Kaur and coach Charlotte Edwards will try to keep their team on task and away from complacency.

As MI chose to stick with their starting lineup, UP chose to replace Shweta Sehrawat with Parshavi Chopra.

Harmanpreet Kaur Talks

I’m going through something new, but I’m sure the MI team is getting used to it by this point. (It was lost). We were going to bat first anyhow. For us, the same XI. We’re keeping things straightforward because we just want to have fun.

Alyssa Healy’s Thoughts

“One of the reasons for bowling first was that we have chased far better than what we have set this year. I adore the fact that Gujarat won their game and put a little pressure on us. Parshavi will arrive today.

Jhulan Goswami Talks

“We played a few matches against each other before the competition and chose our strongest eleven.” We made sure they had sufficient time to settle. The bowlers have been reliable, and the top order is performing nicely. Despite Pooja’s terrible injury, the starting lineup remains the same.

The outfield at Brabourne is swift while the wicket is a touch slower. The ball was merely bouncing around in the evening here. The key to beating Healy and their bats will be to bowl in the proper spots. I hope they continue to act like they have in the past.

Tomorrow is a crucial game (between me and Charlotte Edwards). If I don’t get her out after five overs of bowling, I’ll have to treat her.

UPW vs MI WPL Highlights 2023, UP Warriorz End Mumbai Indians’ Winning Run

The formidable Mumbai Indians’ Women’s Premier League winning streak was broken by UP Warriorz with a five-wicket triumph on Saturday after the Uttar Pradesh team got more out of a challenging Navi Mumbai surface.

England’s top left-arm spinner Sophie Ecclestone (3/15) was instrumental in helping UP Warriorz knock out Mumbai Indians for 127 on a surface where the ball twisted frequently and held up well.

When MI batted, spinners bowled up to 18 of the 20 overs, a WPL record. In response, UPW encountered some challenges before finishing the mission with three balls left over. The primary batting performers for UPW were Grace Harris (39) and Tahlia McGrath (38) while player of the match Ecclestone (16 not out) and Deepti Sharma (13 not out) also made significant contributions.

With just one run scored at the start of the second over, UPW lost Devika Vaidya. Hayley Matthews was the victorious bowler, but Harmanpreet Kaur deserves the majority of the credit for the dismissal since she pulled off a stunning catch at first slip after the batsman received a thick outside edge.

Alyssa Healy, the UPW captain, was caught in front of the wicket by Issy Wong for a major wicket. The Aussie star was forced to return to the dugout because the on-field umpire was not persuaded despite the significant appeal, and MI’s decision to request a referral turned out to be the right one.

UPW vs MI WPL Highlights, When Yastika Bhatia completed a spectacular one-handed diving catch behind the wicket from the bowling of Nat Sciver-Brunt to send Kiran Navgire back for 12, for which she used 16 balls, MI found another reason to cheer as they were defending a short but tough score on this surface.

At the start of the seventh over, when UPW was behind by three points, Grace Harris got things going with a boundary.

Even while MI rapidly picked up three wickets, they were also guilty of losing three catches, which ultimately proved to be vital.

Tahlia McGrath scored a 25-ball 38 while playing with Harris before being caught and bowled by Amelia Kerr. However, Harris closed the gap on three times after McGrath was dismissed by hitting two consecutive fours.

Once Harris was eliminated by Kerr at a key moment, the game took a new turn, but UPW maintained their composure to prevail.

Previously, MI would have won far less than what they did if Issy Wong’s 19-ball 32 hadn’t occurred.

The UP Warriorz bowlers did a remarkable job of keeping things tight and taking wickets at regular intervals against the formidable Mumbai batting lineup after their skipper Alyssa Healy choose to field first.

As Yastika Bhatia (5) and Nat Sciver-Brunt left the game, MI was 56 for two at the end of the 10th over, with Hayley Matthews (35) and the team’s skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (25) attempting to form a partnership (7).

Hayley and Kaur, though, were both dismissed after making beginnings; the India captain was replaced by her fellow countrywoman Deepti Sharma after the more seasoned Ecclestone took out the former.

At the start of the 14th over, the Warriorz had Mumbai Indians at 78 for five after Amelia Kerr (3) had only faced five balls before Rajeshwari Gayakwad sent her back.

At the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Amanjot Kaur too struggled to make an impact with the bat as she was dismissed by the cunning Ecclestone, who by this point had taken three wickets in one over.

Ecclestone caused the majority of the damage, but the other players helped her out and made MI work hard for each run. Gayakwad, an Indian player, had a successful performance as well, returning with impressive stats of two for 16 from her allotted four overs.

Deepti achieved a final score of 2/34.

UPW vs MI WPL Highlights: The pitch

There is no reason to think that today will be any different from the overall trend of slower pitches in this tournament. Due to the fact that this is a day game, the dew influence won’t be as noticeable.

UPW vs MI WPL Highlights: Toss Alert

After winning the toss, UPW decided to bowl. I don’t think Harmanpreet Kaur has a chance of winning the toss in this match. She claims that she was going to opt to bat anyhow, as she has done in each of the games up to this point. There are no quarters and such.
